BEST TIME TO BUY AND SELL A HOME

The best time to buy and sell a home is during the spring and winter months. This is when everyone is the most active and motivated to buy and sell. Depending on the type of relocation, you may be able to put your home on the market in the spring and look for a new home in the meantime. Most homes in a good market will sell within thirty days.

Keep in mind that the spring and summer months may be the worst time to move, however. Because of increased traffic, road construction, and others making the move as well, the move may be a little more stressful than you expected. Reserving a moving truck or van at least two or three weeks in advance is a great way to ensure that the size you need is available.

Another issue you may have to deal with is hiring movers during this time. Moving companies may not have any available if they happen to be busy. Making reservations for movers is also important.

If possible, try to plan your move in early spring or late summer. Some people will move even if they haven't sold their current home so they can beat the rush of others who are relocating as well.

If you don't own a home, then you can move at any time. Plan for the fall or spring so that you don't have to deal with bad weather, traffic, and road construction.
