How To Find A Motivated Seller
To answer that question let's consider who is most likely to be a motivated seller. A motivated seller is a person who has an urgent and real desire to sell his property. This urgent reason could be one of many. - They may have been transferred by their company and must leave by a certain date to take up their new appointment. They will not want the hassle of selling their home long-distance, or returning every so often to see to it. Besides this, they are busy with packing, arranging transport and trying to buy new home or get some other accommodation. Such a person will be highly motivated to sell and may be willing to accept a lesser price for the sake of speed. - An elderly person who has decided to move into a nursing home or retirement villa after the death of a spouse. Many elderly people just can't be bothered with all the hassle of selling. All they want is to see a cheque in the bank. - A divorcee. Many divorcees just want to get rid of everything that reminds them of their divorce so that they can get on with their lives - A person who is bankrupt. Having been declared bankrupt this person is not now liable for his debts, but his assets will be liquidated to pay for as many of them as is possible. - Trustees. If one of the family or a friend has died, the trustees may be anxious to settle up all the affairs quickly, especially if they have had to travel from some distance. So how do you find these people? Ask around. The realtor will often know the reason behind the sale of a house. Keep an eye on the newspaper. Probate must be advertised, while bankruptcy and foreclosures are often reported in the court section of the paper. Keep your ears open. If you live in a small community, the local pub or club is the place to hear all the news firsthand. |
