it will have no problem. I just has to find 3 or 4 satellites in the visible sky. Extras won't hurt.

The satellites are replaced in the same locations, so as long as your GPS receiver can see two (preferably 3) "birds" it doesn't have to do any adapting. It just works as it was dedsigned to work, which is to do time-difference-of-arrival calculations of the signals and data being transmitted by the birds.

Satellites send out an almanac that your GPS receiver uses to identify the satellite, time and many other things from it.
You will not even notice if a satellite is replaced or taken down. Right now there are more than the 24 satellites required to give global coverage at any given time. You can find more information about GPS devices and how to use them at http://www.sourcegps.com |
