Bargains
And so it was. At the time. But now it has served its purpose of making you happy to have caught a bargain and its time to get rid of it. You can do whatever you want with it just so long as you do something with it. Keeping it locked up somewhere is not doing it, or you, any good. If you can still use it, then keep it somewhere where you will be more likely to use it. If all you feel is a sense of satisfaction at having obtained such a prize for dirt cheap then I would suggest that you look twice at it and decide whether or not it¡Çs for you. Looking more objectively at it, you might find that you¡Çve outgrown its purpose, in which case, give it away or throw it. Don¡Çt whatever you do, store it back in your house again! You will also want to look back on this little achievement of will power every time that you pass by a bargain table and take it to heart. Bargains also include ¡ÈFree!¡É items as well people, so stay away from those as well. Unless you really, really need something I would stay away from buying that item. These free, or bargain items can spell death just as easily for your decluttering efforts as apathy, procrastination, and sentimentality can. So the next time you see someone or something advertising a great bargain, hit the accelerator, not the brakes. Remember, you already have just about everything that you need. But if you do succumb and get that great bargain which you never even knew that you wanted or needed until you saw it on sale, then use the in-out rule to help you keep control of things. |
